Community Management During Construction

Working closely with community

Building positive relationships and project understanding while mitigating impact

Community management plays a pivotal role in the success of infrastructure projects by fostering positive relationships between project stakeholders and the communities they impact.

Effective community management prevents reasonable people from becoming irate due to lack of project focus on community needs and impacts, and is a strategic necessity rather than an operational task. It enables project teams to plan project delivery in a strategic manner and communicate clearly to reduce the risk of issues arising or being escalated to the client, media, or government.

Through thoughtful community management, we aim to reduce disruptions and delays to project delivery, prevent misinformation, and build excitement and anticipation around projects. By proactively engaging with stakeholders such as local residents, First Nations communities, and advocacy groups, skilled project leaders can identify potential issues early in the project lifecycle, enabling timely resolution and risk mitigation.

We support mutually beneficial behaviour change, using informed, empathetic, place-led, and adaptive approaches, and leverage strategic communication and engagement to:

Reduce community-led disruptions to construction delivery

Prevent misinformation

Build project excitement and anticipation

Mitigate community risks and issues

Our approach

Elevate Engagement recognises that infrastructure projects are not just about construction; they are about people and their lives. We are experienced in working with people to understand and proactively mitigate impacts relating to construction on surrounding communities.

We are accommodating of the human reality for both construction teams, and those impacted by construction. We seek to take the friction out of infrastructure delivery by managing expectations, dealing with issues efficiently, and putting the projects best foot forward.

Our empathetic team members support community members through challenging transitions, and create open doors for discussion. Our approach seeks to elevate standards in the industry, creating a positive legacy and contributing to the overall well-being of the communities involved.
